This Senior Credit Analyst opening offers a unique opportunity to join a leading impact investment fund as a lead Credit Analyst within their high-calibre, UK-headquartered team. Working with impressive individuals, you will shape credit risk strategy focused on Corporate, Financial Institutions and Project Finance investments across Africa and Asia. You will hold a pivotal role, providing vital risk oversight for a diverse global portfolio of corporates, financial institutions, and project finance investments. The 12 month fixed term contract opening, paying a salary of £103k, with strong work-life balance, will offer you the opportunity to play a key and meaningful role in investment decisions.
You will serve as a key bridge between the risk function and the investment team, ensuring that high-impact growth is matched by rigorous standards. You will be involved in:
- Portfolio Ownership: Taking primary responsibility for credit analysis and counterparty risk across a diverse international portfolio of corporates, financial institutions, and project finance.
- Methodology Development: Designing and refining specialized risk measurement frameworks and scorecards to assess various asset classes and investment funds.
- Investment Collaboration: Partnering directly with investment teams to provide pre-deal credit risk analysis, ensuring all potential exposures are captured and mitigated before capital is committed.
- Thematic Monitoring: Leading proactive portfolio reviews and ongoing monitoring of covenant compliance and early warning signals to identify emerging risk trends.
- Strategic Reporting: Developing high-level risk presentations for the Board and Executive Committees to communicate the fund's credit risk posture and mitigation strategies.
You will have:
- Deep Sector Expertise: At least 5 years of credit risk management / credit analysis experience with a proven track record specifically within at least one of corporate, financial institutions, and project finance analysis.
- Institutional Pedigree: A background in a major investment bank, private equity firm, or development finance institution. Exposure to emerging markets (particularly Africa or Asia) is advantageous, but not essential.
- Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of credit risk / credit analysis techniques, including rating methodologies, exposure measurement, and structural credit enhancement.
- Analytical Rigour: Exceptional quantitative skills and the ability to distil complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
