We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and experienced Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our clinical team in Sandwell. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the issues affecting people with substance misuse and alcohol complexities. They will be driven by safe practice, compassion and a desire to help people become more healthy and well.

This position requires a qualified nurse or advanced clinical practitioner with appropriate and valid registration with either the NMC or GPHC and relevant experience.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide a high-quality service for people with complex needs including substance misuse.
  • Adopt a harm reduction approach and commit to providing a caring, compassionate and safe ethos.
  • Apply knowledge of general health issues, safeguarding and clinical guidelines for the patient group.
  • Demonstrate recovery principles in addictions, ITEP and NICE guidance on detoxification and stabilisation protocols.
  • Ensure care delivered is evidence-based while meeting service users' needs.
  • Prescribe flexibly across on-site clinics, outreach and satellite locations in Sandwell.
  • Work flexibly, accommodate outreach projects, and travel across the borough.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, service users and external teams.
  • Maintain a non-judgemental and inclusive attitude towards colleagues and service users.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified nurse or advanced clinical practitioner with valid NMC or GPHC registration.
  • Relevant experience working with people with complex needs, substance misuse and alcohol complexities.
  • Knowledge of recovery principles, ITEP, NICE guidance, and clinical guidelines.

Enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required.
