Purpose of the Role
Due to the need to maintain a high standard of worship and structured music ministry, we are seeking a Volunteer Music Pastor to lead and develop the church’s worship life. This role is essential to:
- Coordinate and lead worship services
- Develop and train the music team
- Ensure consistency and spiritual depth in worship delivery
- Support the church’s vision through music ministry
Key Responsibilities
Worship & Music Leadership
- Lead and coordinate worship during services and special programmes
- Plan and structure worship sets aligned with ministry themes
- Organise and lead rehearsals for choir and instrumentalists
- Train and mentor worship team members
- Maintain high musical and spiritual standards
Ministry Support
- Work with pastoral leadership to support overall church vision
- Contribute to prayer meetings and spiritual activities
- Support outreach programmes through music ministry
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to biblical teachings
- Strong musical ability (vocal and/or instrumental)
- Proven experience in leading worship
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work within a team
Desirable
- Theological training or ministry certification
- Experience directing choirs or bands
- Familiarity with contemporary and traditional worship styles
