SAGA Truck & Van is the leading Mercedes-Benz distributor in the United Kingdom, with a network of ten dealerships across Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, and East England, employing over five hundred staff.
The SAGA Mercedes-Benz
Story: The journey began in 1971 in western France, initially focused solely on commercial vehicles.
Over the years, car and utility vehicle operations were added, and dealerships multiplied—first regionally until 2013, then nationally, before expanding internationally in 2019.
In 2024, SAGA Mercedes-Benz expanded to England with the acquisition of 10 dealerships, previously owned by Sparshatt Truck and Van and Motus Truck & Van.
Today, SAGA has an international presence (in France, Belgium, England, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Czech Republic) and represents 70% of the RCM group’s revenue.
This role is responsible for the management and development of IT Systems, infrastructure and support across the groups UK dealerships.
Whilst this is a field based role, the successful candidate will be based at our head office in Hatfield.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the IT function across multiple sites.
- Develop and implement the Group IT strategy, budget and technology roadmap.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, networks, Microsoft 365, hardware, software and telecommunications.
- Manage cybersecurity, data protection, backups and disaster recovery.
- Support and manage dealership, manufacturer, DMS, CRM and business-critical systems.
- Manage IT suppliers, contracts, licences and external service providers.
- Lead IT projects, system upgrades, integrations and new-site/acquisition implementations.
- Provide effective IT support to all dealerships employees.

- Proven experience managing IT within a multi-site organisation.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, networking and cybersecurity.
- Experience managing IT projects, suppliers and budgets.
- Commercially focused with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Automotive/commercial vehicle dealership experience desirable.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Group locations.
