Transport Coordinator

Transport Coordinator - Permanent position Working Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm paying 30K a year- offering further career progression and development. Job Description for the Transport Coordinator role: Planning delivery routes and coordinating the transportation of goods. Booking deliveries with customers and coordinating suitable delivery times. Ensuring shipments are arranged in the most cost-effective and efficient way. Communicating delivery schedules and updates to customers. Managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Preparing delivery notes and relevant documentation for drivers. Liaising closely with Production and Customer Service teams to ensure targets are achieved. Obtaining quotes for overseas deliveries and coordinating shipments once goods are manufactured. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date delivery logs and ensuring all data is recorded correctly. Monitoring KPIs and supporting despatch analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Candidate Requirements for the Transport Coordinator role: Previous coordination experience is essential; transport experience is desirable but not essential. Good geographical knowledge would be beneficial. Confident using IT systems, with good working knowledge of Excel. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Highly organised with excellent time management skills. Strong administrative and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively. Adaptable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Motivated, proactive and confident using own initiative. Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a small team.
