RCM Ltd are working in partnership with a well-established Building Services Electrical Contractor to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing in-house design team. Our client delivers full electrical packages across a diverse portfolio of projects including leisure, retail, commercial, warehousing, student accommodation and mixed-use developments throughout the UK. Due to continued project wins and growth, they are now looking to strengthen their internal design capability. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer who wants to be involved in the full project lifecycle, working closely with operational delivery teams and senior management. This role is commutable from Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Coleshill, Tamworth, Cannock, Wolverhampton and surrounding Midlands locations.
The Role
- As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role within the design team, supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept stage through to completion.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Working across a variety of electrical building services projects across the UK
- Supporting projects from initial concept and design development through to construction and completion
- Coordinating MEP services alongside internal teams and external consultants
- Producing electrical drawings, layouts and specifications
- Carrying out design calculations and technical analysis
- Conducting site surveys and validation reports where required
- Attending and representing the business at design and coordination meetings
- Supporting the project delivery teams with technical design input throughout construction
