The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established property consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor to join its expanding team in Birmingham.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality surveying services to a varied client base. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting building surveys and preparing detailed reports.
  • Carrying out defect diagnosis and providing practical recommendations.
  • Managing refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
  • Administering contracts and monitoring project progress.
  • Undertaking condition surveys and planned maintenance assessments.
  • Advising clients on property legislation, compliance and building regulations.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

About You

We're looking for someone who has

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within a consultancy, private practice or client-side environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge across professional surveying services.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • A proactive and client-focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence (if required).

Ideally you'll also have

  • MRICS qualification (or be working towards chartership).
  • Experience across commercial, education, healthcare or residential sectors.
