Woodlands Care Centre are looking for a Lifestyle Activities Co-ordinator to join their family-friendly residential home, caring for people with Dementia. The Activities Co-ordinator will motivate, inspire and mobilise team members in the home to be involved and engaged in the provision of stimulating activities within the resident’s environment to support the Lifestyle Lead to plan, promote and implement a meaningful, enjoyable, engaging and stimulating activities programme, based on relationship-centred care principles.
Responsibilities include:
- Motivating, inspiring and mobilising other care team members within the home.
- Role modelling relationship-centred care within all team members to empower residents with their lifestyle choices.
- Actively engaging with residents in conversation and meaningful occupation related to their lifestyle choices at a level and pace that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
Qualifications/Education:
- NVQ HSC level 3 or QCF HSC award 3 (not essential).
Experience:
- Proven track record of organising, coordinating, and motivating others.
- Experience of organising and scheduling programmes of events or activities.
- Experience of working and/or engaging with older people (both living with and without Dementia).
- Experience delivering high-quality relationship-centred care.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and clinical skills.
