We’re currently seeking a passionate and reliable Assistant Chef to work in the kitchen to prepare fresh, high‑quality meals that cater to a variety of dietary needs in a warm and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and cooking of nutritious meals for residents, ensuring presentation and taste meet high standards.
  • Plan menus that meet residents’ dietary requirements, preferences, and medical needs (e.g., soft diets, allergies, diabetic‑friendly options).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, complying with food safety regulations at all times.
  • Ensure food is prepared and stored correctly, following HACCP procedures.
  • Support the smooth running of mealtimes, including food service when required.
  • Stock control, rotation, and ordering under the Head Chef’s guidance.

About You

  • Experience in a similar kitchen or catering assistant role (care setting preferred but not essential).
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum).
  • Passion for cooking and a genuine interest in working with older people.
  • Ability to work in a team and take direction well.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, patient manner.
