The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 55,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The purpose of the SCA is to assess a GP trainee's ability to integrate and apply skills appropriate for general practice. It is a standardised clinical OSCE delivered in the GP trainees practice under invigilated conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Examinations Manager with the preparation and delivery of the SCA live examinations.
  • Manage administrative, communication, and technical tasks to ensure the smooth running of examination days.
  • Provide up‐to‐date information to all participants.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administration and documenting processes.
  • Ability to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Confidence in using IT systems.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in supporting the SCA IT helpline.
  • Effective problem‐solving ability.
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
