General position overview

Duties will include:

  • Service, Maintenance, Repairs, Breakdowns, Installation of Fire Alarm Detection Systems and Electronic Security Systems – Access, CCTV and Intruder Systems, within locations as required to meet the expectations of the clients of ICT.
  • Hours – working day is 8 hours on site, it is expected that travel time up to 1 hour at the beginning and at the end of day is in addition to the working day. Any travel time to and from site at the start and end of the day in excess of the 1 hour travel time, will form part of the working day.
  • To be part of a callout Rota to provide emergency callout cover.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Complete timesheets weekly and provide monthly mileage and expenses returns.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement ISO 9001 Quality Procedures.
  • Implement NSI Gold, NSI Fire Gold and LPCB 1014 regulations in accordance with Company Quality Manual.
  • Comply with policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance Issues that affect the customer and employees.

Other Job Functions:

  • Provide commissioning, installation, and reactive attendance for Automated Fire Alarm Detection Systems.
  • First response to CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm Systems faults when called upon.
  • Ensure all relevant engineering practices are adhered to.
  • Advise or recommend improvement for additions or reductions in the scope of works.
  • Maintain company issued equipment in good order.
  • Assist in the development of trainees and mentoring engineers.
  • Ensure good timekeeping and housekeeping.
  • Return necessary paperwork to Manager as required.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with Company Policies.
  • Monitor quality and quantity of work to ensure progress.
  • Develop and maintain effective Client relationship and assist in gaining future work for the company.
  • Control and manage tools and plant on site to ensure that resources are in accordance with the job.
  • Carry out other duties as requested by Manager.

Minimum requirements:

  • Proven experience within a similar role, with preferable two years experience.
  • Successfully completed FIA Training: BS part 1, Service and Maintenance, Commissioning and Advanced Commissioning courses.
  • Proven ability to install, test, and commission Fire Alarm Systems and Electronic Security Systems.
  • Proven IT skills including MS Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to communicate with both external and internal customers in a professional and consistent manner.
  • Minimum qualification ONC or equivalent in Electrical Electronic Systems.
  • Full driving licence (preferably clean).
  • Positively Security Screened BS 7858: 2006.
  • Health and Safety Competent CSCS.
