We are seeking a skilled and motivated Small Works Engineer to join our growing team, working across London and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Commissioning
    • Install and commission fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, door-entry systems, and other building safety equipment
    • Interpret installation plans, drawings, and technical specifications accurately
    • Carry out cable routing, component installation, system configuration, and commissioning
    • Complete certification, reports, and documentation
    • Replace faulty emergency lighting systems
  • Maintenance & Fault-Finding
    • Diagnose faults and carry out efficient repairs
    • Participate in an on-call rota (standby allowance of £200/week + call-out pay)
    • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and job documentation

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in small works, installation, or service engineering (fire, security, telecoms, AV, or similar)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong fault-finding and technical skills
  • Good report writing and IT proficiency (email, service software, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and travel across London and surrounding areas

Desirable Qualifications

  • First Aid, IPAF, or PASMA certification
  • FIA qualifications
  • Manufacturer training (e.g. Honeywell or similar systems)
