We are seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Manager to provide technical leadership and governance across a complex, highly regulated environment. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will take ownership of life safety systems, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational readiness across critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the SME for life safety systems across the site and wider estate
  • Lead governance, assurance, and compliance activities in line with regulatory and organisational standards
  • Manage life safety systems including fire detection, fire suppression, emergency lighting, smoke control, and confined space safety systems
  • Ensure systems are maintained, validated, and fit for operational use
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct technical audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
  • Lead and support incident investigations, producing technical reports and recommendations
  • Support capital projects through design reviews, FAT/SAT activities, and project assurance

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing life safety systems within a high-risk or highly regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of fire detection, fire suppression, emergency lighting, smoke control, and confined space safety systems
  • Experience overseeing the full lifecycle of safety-critical systems, including maintenance, installation, commissioning, and upgrades
  • Proven background in technical assurance, compliance auditing, and contractor management
  • Experience developing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
  • Ability to lead engineering investigations and technical root cause analysis
