Location: Greater London, hybrid 3 days per week on site.
Duration: Contract (Outside IR35) - 6 months initially.

RC Fornax are seeking an experienced ILS / Obsolescence Engineer to support our customer in delivering Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and proactive obsolescence management across multiple engineering systems.
Key Responsibilities- Obsolescence Management
- Perform proactive and reactive obsolescence activities across multiple systems.
- Support obsolescence resolution options in line with BS EN-IEC-62402:2019.
- Identify spares holdings and ensure alignment with MoD Spares Policy and NATO Codification.
- Monitor and report obsolescence risks throughout contract and system life.
- Develop and maintain ILS Management Plans aligned with DEF STAN 00-600 and business strategy.
- Support ARM reporting, including Reliability Block Diagrams for redundancy and critical item analysis.
- Interpret maintenance schedules and manuals; attend Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) meetings.
- Contribute to bid activities by reviewing customer requirements and preparing Basis of Estimates.
- Ensure compliance with ILS requirements and demonstrate value to stakeholders.
- Conduct FMECA, LORA, Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and PHS&T assessments.
- Address disposal issues, including hazardous materials and security considerations.
- Support training and documentation development.
- Work closely with engineering design teams to influence supportability in system design.
- Liaise with functional safety, configuration, supply chain, and OEMs to manage support data and obsolescence.
- Engage with customers to manage expectations and mitigate ILS-related risks.
- Proven track record delivering ILS within the UK Defence sector.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (HNC Level 4 or higher).
- Strong knowledge of UK Defence Standards and international ILS standards.
- Experience with maritime surface and sub-surface platforms.
- Familiarity with control systems and software supportability.
