A well-established pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturing organisation is seeking an Interim Production Planner to join its Supply Chain function on a 6-month contract basis. This role will play a critical part in maintaining continuity across production planning, with responsibility for ensuring efficient, accurate, and responsive scheduling across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. There is flexibility for this assignment to either transition into a permanent position or run for the full contract duration while supporting the hire of a long-term solution.

The Role

  • Develop and manage production plans for the Packing function, with broader support across Manufacturing when required.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all work orders.
  • Respond quickly to material shortages and supply constraints.
  • Re-plan and adjust schedules to reflect changing priorities and operational demands.
  • Review capacity and highlight future risks to delivery/customer service.
  • Manage conflicting priorities and deadlines, enabling effective decision making.
  • Handle high volumes of planning data and documentation with speed and accuracy.
  • Provide regular updates within daily production meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in production planning/scheduling within a manufacturing environment (pharma or FMCG preferred).
  • Highly numerate, detail-focused, and comfortable working at pace.
  • Strong Excel and general IT capability (ERP exposure advantageous – Navision desirable).
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders across production and supply chain.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high workloads and tight timelines.
