A boutique healthcare communications and medical communications agency is looking for an Account Director, or a highly proactive Senior Account Manager ready to step up, to join the team working across oncology and Medical Affairs accounts. The role is suited to someone who operates with independence and confidence in client leadership, whether promoted to Account Director or stepping up from Senior Account Manager. The candidate should think ahead, connect the dots across projects, and actively contribute to account direction and growth.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership across a range of accounts within a medical communications environment, leading projects across expert engagement, congress activity and digital deliverables, including websites.
- Work closely with senior leadership and operate at a strategic level, managing client relationships confidently while helping guide wider account direction.
- Lead conversations, navigate ambiguity when challenges arise, and bring solutions rather than simply delivering against briefs.
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience within a healthcare communications, medical communications or medcomms agency environment.
- Either a newly promoted Account Director or a highly proactive Senior Account Manager ready to step up.
- Strong client leadership skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Comfort operating independently and communicating confidently at a strategic level.
- Commercially aware, with an understanding of account growth, scope and opportunities within existing business.
- Experience across Medical Affairs accounts, ideally within oncology.
- Exposure to expert engagement, congress activity and digital projects.
- Someone who actively drives conversations and contributes ideas, rather than working in a purely delivery-focused way.
- Publications experience would be of interest, although it is not essential for this role.
