Welder – Chesterfield iRecruit UK is currently hiring an experienced Welder to join a well-established steel fabrication business in Chesterfield. This is a temporary-to-permanent role, offering long-term stability and career progression. Job Details: * Position: Welder * Location: Chesterfield * Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday * Shift: 06:00 AM – 16:30 PM * Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch + two paid 15-minute breaks * Pay Rate: £15 – £17 per hour (probation) | Up to £18 per hour post-probation (DOE) * Holidays: 18 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays * Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate, optional * Perks: Free tea & coffee provided on-site * Start Date: Immediate start available following a successful interview Key Responsibilities: * MIG welding of steel components in a medium to heavy fabrication environment * Reading and interpreting technical drawings to ensure precision and accuracy * Welding and assembling steel structures to high-quality standards * Performing structural and positional welds as per project specifications * Ensuring all work meets health, safety, and quality regulations Requirements: * Proven experience as a Welder * Strong MIG welding skills in a fabrication setting * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Experience working with medium to heavy steel fabrication * Ability to work independently and as part of a team This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected company offering career development and long-term job security
