A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK

What you\’ll be doing…

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, we are looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Brigade. You will support the Head Chef in all aspects of Kitchen Management, from rota planning, stock control, and staff delegation.

As Sous Chef you will have good knowledge for everything food, and have a genuine interest in creating and costing new and exciting dishes to WOW our guests. You will have a natural flair for inpsiring creativity and will encourage the team to use thier own individuality in everything they do while providing and maintaining a fun, positive and creative atmosphere.

You will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the team.

To succeed in the role of Sous Chef, you will need the following qualities and skills.

  • Thge ability to adhere to the company\’s rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety and licesing regulations.
  • The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen, whilst ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • To be flexible in your approach and able to assist the Head Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required.
  • A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department.
  • Somone who is passionate about food and willing to learn.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.
