A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECEPTIONIST AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL BLACKPOOL
What you\’ll be doing…
Reporting to the Reception Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following:
- As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will be handling ’check-in’ and ‘check-out’ with a welcoming smile, answering queries both face to face and over the telephone.
- You will be processing payments too and taking responsibility for cashiering during your shift.
- You will sign-post guest requests to the relevant department as and when challenges arise to ensure guests’ comfort at all times.

To succeed in the role of Receptionist, you will need the following qualities and skills:
- A ‘can-do’ approach to guest interaction and service, to ensure our guest’s needs are catered for.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload, which on occasion may well be under pressure!
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, (although not essential, previous experience of Opera would be a distinct advantage).
