A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIRECTOR OF SALES AT OUR HOTEL:
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets, focusing on room bookings, events, and corporate accounts
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to meet individual and team sales objectives, providing guidance and training as necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents, and event organisers, acting as a primary contact for high‑profile accounts
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, and proactive outreach, positioning the hotel as a preferred venue in the market
- Conduct regular sales meetings to track team performance, discuss progress towards goals, and address any challenges
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies with promotional campaigns and seasonal offers, ensuring effective, cohesive messaging across channels
- Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring terms are mutually beneficial and aligned with hotel revenue goals
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, inform pricing strategies, and position the hotel competitively within the marketplace
- Prepare detailed sales reports, analyse key metrics, and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision‑making
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and local business gatherings to strengthen brand presence and generate new leads
- Hosting of the evening social twice a week
- Participation of hotel and team events
What We Need from You:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales within the hospitality or events sector, with a proven record of achieving sales targets and managing client relationships effectively
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a sales team to meet ambitious goals
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and persuasive approach
- In‑depth understanding of sales principles and strategies, with experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Proficiency in CRM software (such as Salesforce or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate and analyse sales data
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
- Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, including evenings and weekends, and attend off‑site meetings or events as required
- A positive, proactive approach with the ability to identify and act on new opportunities in line with hotel objectives
