A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEETING & EVENTS EXECUTIVE IN OUR HOTEL

What You’ll Be Doing

  • As a member of the Reservations / Conference & Events Team maximise conversion and revenue for rooms and meeting room sales.
  • Support the Refer & Reward system for the hotel – training for new team members, monthly updates to the team, updating Salesforce and preparing the revenue report for the DOS to approve payment to the team members.
  • Support the DOS with marketing initiatives, posters, special offers, 3rd party platforms and any additional activities relating to marketing as set by the DOS.
  • Commercial planning with the DOS for future activities.
  • Update Salesforce, data entry, enquiry completions, complete showrounds and attend appointments if the DOS is not available.
  • Support the DOS with Social media activities, content and planning.
  • Be involved in sales activities if required, to ensure the successful launch and continued business success of the hotel.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive room bookings, events, and group sales, achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, and event organisers, acting as a key point of contact for enquiries, negotiations, and bookings.
  • Conduct sales calls, attend networking events, and participate in industry conferences to promote the hotel and generate leads.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales initiatives with promotional campaigns and seasonal offers, ensuring consistency in messaging and maximising impact.
  • Manage incoming enquiries and provide prompt, detailed responses to ensure an exceptional client experience and increase conversion rates.
  • Conduct site visits and tours for potential clients, highlighting the hotel’s amenities and services while addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Track and analyse sales performance, preparing reports on key metrics and providing insights for strategy adjustments to meet revenue goals.
  • Maintain an updated CRM database of client contacts, interactions, and follow-ups to streamline communication and support effective account management.
  • Handle group enquiries and liaise with revenue manager & DOS to optimize groups potential for the hotel.

What We Need From You

  • Proven experience in a sales role, ideally within the hospitality, events, or tourism sectors, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and industry partners.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a confident and persuasive approach to client engagement.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand market trends, client needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Familiarity with sales software (e.g., CRM systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple leads and follow‑ups simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to interpret sales data and make recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Flexibility to attend off‑site client meetings, networking events, and occasionally work outside regular hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed for events.
