A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCE ASSISTANT AT THE GANTRY LONDON HOTEL
What you'll be doing...
- Reporting to the Financial Controller, you can expect your working day to include the following:
- Audit and verify all revenue transactions for consistency according to hotel’s standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance to all control and system procedures and document all processes and identify errors for cash handling.
- Count, record and bank daily cash in accordance to audit requirements at all times.
- Evaluate all revenue centres and prepare reports for income journal daily and evaluate and balance all rebates.
- Prepare and evaluate all reports daily and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy in all PMS reports and documents all income requirements for various projects and ensure compliance to all regulations.
- Review the aged debtor ledger on a daily basis and actively chase all past due debts with a focus on chasing current invoices to mitigate account falling past due.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management according to hotel policies and procedures.
- Perform month end closing in coordination with Management Accountant.
- Manage communication with various departments and prepare everyday reports within required timeframe.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software.
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping.
