A Day in the Life of a Kitchen Porter at The Met Hotel, Leeds
What you’ll be doing…
- Keep the kitchen buzzing by making sure everything’s sparkling clean — from pans and plates to prep stations and utensils.
- Scrub, shine, and stack– you’ll be the magic behind the scenes making sure everything’s ready for the next delicious dish.
- Lend a helping hand to the chefs, with simple prep jobs like chopping, peeling, or portioning — every little helps during the rush!
- Tidy as you go, keeping rubbish in check, recycling properly, and making sure the kitchen stays spotless and safe.
- Keep things in order by stocking and organising storage areas so everything’s easy to grab when it’s needed.
- Pitch in with deliveries, helping unpack and store goods so the kitchen stays stocked and ready to go.
- Stick to the rules– from hygiene to health and safety, you’ll help keep the kitchen clean, compliant, and running like clockwork.
