A Day in the Life of a Pastry Chef De Partie at Our Hotel:

What you'll be doing...

  • Pastry Preparation & Service: Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and plated desserts in line with hotel standards. Assist with daily mise en place and service for restaurant, banqueting, and event operations. Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all pastry offerings. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines.
  • Quality & Standards: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times. Ensure ingredients are fresh, correctly stored, and rotated. Assist with menu development, seasonal dishes, and special event menus.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations. Follow HACCP procedures and allergen controls. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe pastry section. Ensure correct labelling, storage, and stock rotation.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and food & beverage teams. Support and guide junior kitchen team members when required. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Stock & Cost Control: Assist with stock checks, ordering, and waste reduction. Use ingredients and equipment efficiently to support cost control.

What We Need From You:

  • A passion for culinary excellence and a drive to create memorable dining experiences.
  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen, ideally in a Pastry Chef de Partie role or similar.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle high-paced service with ease.
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail when it comes to plating and presentation.
  • Team spirit, supporting the brigade to keep standards high and service smooth.
  • Dedication to cleanliness, food safety, and upholding health regulations.
