The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
You will be part of the European settlements and clearing team that supports pre and post trade deal processing for the RBC Capital Markets securities trading business and its clients. The role ensures that trades are captured, matched for settlement, funded and reconciled as well as covering post trade processes. This operations role is a first line of defence to the business, ensuring accurate books and records are maintained, whilst providing a seamless client experience. This position is full time and will require you to work a minimum of 4 days in the office per week with the option to work one day from home.
What will you do?
- You will work within a settlements and clearing team supporting various markets and businesses.
- Ensure all trades from Back office systems are sent to the relevant custodian, matched and settled within normal market conventions.
- Research and resolution of un-matched or failed transactions, escalate any un-matched or failed trades to the desk and senior management in a timely manner.
- Management of cash balances and daily processing of funding.
- Ensure all daily tasks / controls are completed in line with the departmental procedures.
- Ensure reconciliations of positions and cash are performed on a daily basis and passed for sign off.
- Ensure awareness of meeting operational deadlines, by completing all tasks by their given time and prioritising when necessary.
What do you need to succeed?
- Must-have: Strong experience within the settlements and clearing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Fixed Income bond markets and basic trading strategies.
- Good knowledge of market infrastructure such as Settlement Agents, Nostro Agents and Clearing.
- Be able to work in a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to collaborate internally as well as with clients and agents.
- Good working knowledge of systems such as CREST, Gloss, Easyway, and full suite of Microsoft applications.
- Nice-to-have: Proficient in automation using macros and AI driven tools.
