The Wealth Management Europe (WME) Programme Management Office (PMO) oversees and guides WME through transformation efforts, ensuring change initiative alignment with strategic goals. The PMO will manage the transformation process with a focus on transparency, agile ways of working, and in-year value creation within multi-year programmes, playing a key role in monitoring, tracking and communicating progress on change initiatives to senior leaders, including updates on programme milestones, benefits realisation, and helping to remove barriers/escalations for programme teams.
The Senior Manager, Wealth Management Europe (WME) PMO role will enable the PMO to guide change initiatives through key steps to align programmes with the WME’s vision and goals. This role will support Business Change & Transformation (BC&T) teams through the change lifecycle process of identifying key strategic programmes, creating OKRs, moving through the relevant internal PAR approval process to secure funding on prioritised programmes, and providing advisory services to enable key stakeholders to perform core functions, including programme planning and structuring, effectively managing risks, monitoring LOB’s overall WME change portfolio health, along with expenses and benefits to ensure consistent delivery across WME through execution.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
- Oversee WME intake, triage, funding, and (re)prioritization processes.
- Facilitate alignment of OKRs and programme investments to strategic priorities.
- Maintain a single source of truth and report on portfolio health, spend, risks, interdependencies, and benefits/outcomes in coordination with key partners.
- Facilitate strategic decision-making for segment leadership.
- Track the status of large programme roadmaps and their initiatives articulated with WME’s strategic priorities and provide oversight.
- Communicate value realisation to senior stakeholders.
- Provide advisory support to enable the business and other stakeholders to perform core functions, including programme planning and structuring, business casing and funding, programme governance and delivery model adherence, issue and risk management, benefit realization and tracking, and use of PMO tools.
- Ensure early adoption of strategic ways of working, governance model, and defined accountabilities for business teams.
- Enable WME and delivery teams with best practices, tools, and coaching for self-managed execution.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, best practices, guidelines, tools, and templates on mandatory processes.
- Provide oversight to ensure adoption of tools and templates and adherence to standards.
- Continuous improvement through upskilling and development of WME TMO and BC&T resources.
- Seek opportunities to automate and digitise reporting, governance, and performance tracking processes.
- Champion the use of advanced analytics, dashboards, and other insights to improve forecasting, decision-making, and portfolio optimisation.
- Partner with senior leaders to advise on investment prioritisation, programme execution challenges, and delivery trade-offs.
- Represent WME PMO in enterprise-level forums, ensuring alignment to group-level governance and reporting expectations.
- Work closely with WM PMO to ensure transparency on status of WME programmes and understanding and adherence to global Wealth Management and RBC enterprise level changes to governance frameworks.
- Lead and coach direct reports, setting clear objectives, fostering professional growth, and building a succession pipeline.
- Establish clear accountabilities within the PMO, ensuring role clarity, effective delegation, and driving execution consistency.
- Align PMO team activities to WME priorities and enterprise-level portfolio standards.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Proven experience leading and maturing an enterprise or portfolio-level PMO, with accountability for design and implementation of governance, standards, reporting, and delivery across complex change portfolios.
- Strong experience in establishing and ensuring adoption of portfolio governance frameworks, stage gates, funding and project initiation approvals, and escalation models.
- Proven people management experience, including coaching, upskilling, and performance management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights that support problem analysis and identification of informed recommendations.
- Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and provide independent, fact-based, delivery assurance.
- Strong financial management skills including budget oversight at portfolio/programme level, and forecasting, variance analysis, and funding governance.
- Success in project, program, and/or portfolio management in a large financial institution or corporation including financial planning, leading initiatives from planning into execution.
- Expert knowledge with productivity tools and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, programmes and portfolios.
- Experience with supporting the development of business cases, investments, benefits/value, OKR tracking to support informed executive decision making.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and/or present a wide variety of complex information in both oral and written format at all levels of an organisation.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills to obtain results through partnerships, impact and influence, and being comfortable to deal with uncertainty and maintaining an open-flexible mindset.
- Excellent prioritisation and coordination skills, combined with the ability to work to multiple deadlines under pressure.

- Experience in Agile Coaching and/or Change Management, providing advice and guidance to execution stakeholders roles.
