What is the Opportunity? RBC's European Law Group is seeking an experienced Paralegal based in London to support RBC's European Wealth Management business (WME) with particular focus on investment management services provided by RBC Brewin Dolphin.

What will you do?

  • Manage and coordinate branch escalations, liaising between business units and the legal team to ensure timely resolution of legal matters.
  • Support the delivery of specialised legal services relating to investment management, with the support of qualified legal professionals.
  • Support efficiency initiatives by streamlining legal processes, improving document management systems, and identifying opportunities to enhance Law Group productivity.
  • Prepare and maintain records of legal documentation, including client terms of business, investment management arrangements, dealing, custody, and wrapper agreements.
  • Interact effectively with business and functional stakeholders (e.g. Operational Risk, Business Risk Management, Compliance, Group Risk, Finance etc.).
  • Support the management of external counsel relationships, coordinating communications and tracking deliverables.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and development of Law Group processes, ensuring consistency and robustness in centralising and memorialising advice.

  • Experience managing legal escalations and supporting operational resolution of legal matters.
  • Involvement in efficiency initiatives, process improvement, or operational optimisation projects.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • High level of commitment to providing exceptional service in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate legal and regulatory risks.
  • Willingness to adapt and deal with a range of issues as they arise.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies in the legal space, including using AI for efficiency and standardisation, contract analysis, or document automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of UK and European regulations impacting private wealth and investment management services.
  • Previous experience supporting a business providing investment management, wealth management, or custody services.
