Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be an MD, Finance Modernisation Global Business & Solution Architect reporting into the VP Head of Finance Modernisation for the CFO Group.

This is a full time permanent role and will require 4 days in the office per week.

What will you do?

• Drive globally consistent solution design across business process, controls, data, and technology, ensuring alignment with the Finance Modernisation Design Principles.
• Ensure design coherence across all workstreams and functional domains, including GL & Consolidations, sub-ledger (FPSL), Finance Data Platform, AP/FA/AR, Integrations, Reporting & Analytics, Master Data, and Reconciliation.
• Architect the end-to-end data flow from source systems through the Finance Data Platform to reporting and analytics outputs.
• Ensure that Accounting Books and Records serve as the foundation for regulatory processes within the solution design.
• Ensure the solution architecture supports multi-scope and multi-framework requirements and is scalable for future business expansion, new products, and geographic growth on the platform.
• Support the controlled incremental transition state approach from current state to target state, including interim state management across releases.
• Collaborate with Finance and Finance IT leadership, workstream leads, release directors, and external partners across the program structure.
• Present and defend design decisions at the Design Authority, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and architectural principles, while avoiding ad-hoc or inconsistent decisions across workstreams.
• Drive functional business domains to deliver a complete and consistent end-to-end solution across business process, technical solution, data, and business outcomes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Significant experience in finance transformation programmes within G‑SIB's or similar large, complex global financial institutions.
• Proven experience designing and building finance data platforms from conception through to practical implementation, across data, business process and technology dimensions.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP and SAP Fioneer ERP solutions, specifically: SAP Fioneer Financial Services Data Management (FSDM) and Financial Products Subledger (FPSL), SAP General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Reference/Master Data Management.
• Deep understanding of end‑to‑end finance business processes, accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP), and financial controls frameworks and process domains including but not limited to Product Control, Financial Accounting and Control, Regulatory Reporting, Performance Management and Analytics.
• Demonstrated ability to design globally standardised solutions that balance global consistency with regional and business segment requirements.
• Experience translating complex business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for technology teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior leadership levels.
• Experience working across business process, controls, data, and technology domains simultaneously.

Nice‑to‑have

• Experience with finance reporting and analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) and modern BI/analytics tooling.
• Experience with FP&A tools and performance measurement solutions.
• Familiarity with AI and agentic analytics within a finance context.
• Knowledge of regulatory and statutory reporting requirements for banking/financial services.
• Experience managing design authority or architecture governance forums.
• Prior experience in large‑scale ERP migrations or re‑platforming initiatives, managing complex transition states.
