What is the opportunity?
Within RBC Europe Ltd you’ll be joining the Corporate Treasury team based in London focusing on Asset & Liability (ALM) Execution.
This role will be part of the wider Corporate Treasury Markets team.
The Director – Treasury ALM execution will be primarily responsible for the analysis and structural hedging of interest rate risks arising from banking book products alongside the management of liquid asset portfolios in region.
This role lends itself to a candidate with deep market knowledge, market execution experience covering interest rate derivatives and Fixed Income products, understanding and management of interest rate risk.
Wider Corporate Treasury knowledge & experience beneficial.
What will you do?
- Recommend & execute trades required to hedge Interest Rate risk.
- Recommend & execute trades to purchase HQLA as part of overall liquidity management.
- To drive & build corporate treasury execution capabilities.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations.
- To contribute to ALCO and governance routines where needed.
- Be lead subject matter expert on all aspects of ALM execution and risk monitoring.
- In the future, build and lead the UK ALM execution team.
- Work with product control and performance management to build out portfolio-based reporting, cash flow hedge strategies and limit monitoring processes.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Extensive front office experience with focus on interest rate derivatives and HQLA assets.
- Experience with interest rate risk in the banking book, fixed income products and cross currency derivatives.
- Ability to partner with the entire stack of internal stakeholders (Risk Management, Financial/Product Control, Performance Management, Corporate Treasury, Debt Capital Markets, and trading).
- Ability to deliver practical solutions in a demanding, high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Experience making buy or sell recommendation to senior team members or external clients.
- Experience with Hedge Accounting, Bank Capital Management, Liquidity Management, and Management Accounting.
