We are looking for a Data Base Administrator to provide operational support and administration on RBC BlueBay database infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting across all IT environments, storage, compute technologies, virtualization, networking, security, and cloud deployments (M365, Entra ID, SQL MI, etc). Your efforts will maintain optimal system performance and high user satisfaction.
What will you do?
- Perform day‑to‑day database administration tasks and support internal clients
- Build, upgrade, and enhance database servers
- Respond to ad‑hoc client requests with high customer service
- Troubleshoot performance‑related issues and optimize application code
- Create and maintain system documentation per RBC standards and project requirements
- Provide after‑hours support when needed (planned or on call)
Must have
- Notable experience in technology, 3rd‑line support role, and SQL DBA support
- Previous experience in Windows Server administration
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for team solutions
- Logical and methodical approach to troubleshooting customer issues
- Experience with security hardening and technical troubleshooting
Nice to have
- Foundational IT technical qualifications such as Microsoft certifications
- Service Management ITIL awareness
- Experience with Active Batch
- Exposure to security tools
- Basic understanding of T‑SQL
- Experience with database management/data platforms such as MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks
