The role of Cloud / DevOps Engineer within RBC’s Cloud organisation is a key position responsible for engineering and supporting our cloud environment.
What will you do?
- Support production and application development teams by providing expert guidance on Azure PaaS infrastructure, including App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and their supporting resources like Storage Accounts and Key Vaults.
- Maintain and improve a shared library of Terraform modules and Azure DevOps pipeline templates to enable self‑service for engineering teams.
- Contribute to major infrastructure initiatives, including an application migration to a new Azure tenant and the evolution of our CI/CD platforms.
- Implement and manage highly available and resilient applications on Azure.
- Perform infrastructure remediation work to ensure compliance with Azure policies and security standards.
What do you need to succeed?
Must‑have:
- Hands‑on experience with Azure infrastructure, particularly PaaS services like App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Storage Accounts, and Key Vaults.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and PowerShell.
- Deep experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Good communication skills necessary to work on a geographically distributed team and mentor other engineers.
Nice‑to‑have:
- Experience with Azure data services, such as Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of Azure Landing Zone principles and enterprise‑scale architecture.
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
- Experience working in a Wealth Management or other financial services environment.
