We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Insights Associate to join either our Edinburgh or London CAO team! This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your analytical expertise, broaden your influence across the organisation, and contribute to work that genuinely improves customer outcomes.

Reporting to the Business Insights Senior Associate, as a Business Insights Associate you will be part of the Business Insights team that plays a key role in shaping strategy, governance and customer‑focused decision‑making. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide data and business analytics and insights to help support key business decisions and promote operating model efficiency. The role holder will work closely with each pillar of the CAO Channel, responsible for operational support and delivery of sales initiatives underpinning the group’s strategic objectives, the Distribution channel and wider Business Management team.

What will you do?

  • Data Collection and Cleansing: Partner with the Data Office to collate, clean and consolidate large data sets to produce meaningful insights and support stakeholders in making data‑driven decisions by providing actionable recommendations.
  • Interpretation & Insights: Use statistical methods and analytical tools to interpret data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Reporting / Presenting: Develop and present reports, dashboards and visualisations using BI tools to communicate findings to stakeholders. Maintain and innovate existing reports and dashboards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the business and identify areas for improvement. Review & analyse high volumes of data quickly and efficiently, perform anomaly detection in large data sets, investigate and identify the cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaboration: Regular engagement and stakeholder management across the wider BD network and business partners / teams, such as IT, Change, Finance, Marketing, Business Management, Operations, ensuring engagement with SMEs from across the business at both junior and senior levels, distilling key messages in and out of these relationships.
  • Data visualisation: Create data visualisations and support ongoing compilation of platform data. Partnering with all business functions to deliver insights: Define & monitor, generate actionable insights and support deployment of business / customer‑centric strategies.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Proven track record of analysing large datasets to derive meaningful insights and present them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with a passion for data, data tools and data skills.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and providing insight‑based recommendations.
  • A positive, flexible, can‑do attitude with natural curiosity and keenness for continuous learning.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex data insights to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Confident, approachable and willing to build strong relationships.

Nice‑to‑have

  • Experience working in a business undergoing significant change is highly favourable.
  • Understanding of the financial services industry, including regulatory or customer‑outcome frameworks with knowledge of customer behaviour, journeys and how customers interact with products / services.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Excel and Python or any other data analysis tools with exposure to working with large datasets.
