We are seeking an experienced Head of Strategic Partnerships to join the Intermediaries department – a fast‐growing channel managing over £25bn in assets and driving innovation at RBC Brewin Dolphin.

The Head of Strategic Partnerships will be a commercially focused role responsible for strengthening investment governance, developing third‐party distribution channels and supporting the evolution of MPS, Funds and Discretionary propositions. Success depends on building strong internal and external relationships, maintaining deep regulatory and market awareness, and driving profitable, long‐term partnerships with providers. The role holder will identify commercial opportunities, lead negotiations, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to industry engagement while supporting the Distribution teams with insight, best practice and strategic collaboration.

What will you do?

  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build strong internal and external relationships, foster open communication, and support sales initiatives and business development efforts.
  • Market & Regulatory Awareness: Demonstrate understanding of market conditions and regulatory landscape; adapt business strategy proactively to changes.
  • Product Development: Lead development of MPS, Fund, and Discretionary propositions aligned with adviser and customer needs.
  • Provider Partnerships: Develop and maintain profitable, sustainable relationships with third‐party providers, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Commercial Negotiation & Strategy: Conduct profitable commercial negotiations; leverage group structure and key partnerships to drive business growth and achieve financial objectives.
  • Industry & Regulatory Representation: Represent the business in governance forums and with industry bodies; strengthen regulator relationships.
  • Cross‐Business Collaboration: Share best practices with Business Development teams and support other business areas (Core, PW, FP, BPS) to deliver wider organisational objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively challenge status quo in management meetings, identify emerging opportunities, and drive business forward to meet financial targets.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Must‐have: Evidence of working successfully in a similar role. Strong market knowledge of the Intermediary Market. Working knowledge of Platform, Provider and Third‐party supplier market. Current interaction and working relationships with key players in this market. Presentation skills evidenced at all levels. Ability to challenge proactively when working on internal and external committee work.
  • Nice‐to‐have: Ideally level 4 or 6 qualified, but not essential.
