With a strong engineering heritage and growing national presence, we operate across multiple business units and sectors – delivering technical excellence, reliability and innovation in everything we do.

Marketing plays a critical role in supporting commercial growth, employer brand, and customer engagement across the Group. We are now looking for an ambitious Marketing Executive to bolster our in‐house team.

Your new role

As Marketing Executive, you will deliver engaging multi‐channel content and campaign assets that support sales, brand visibility and internal communications, forming the operational backbone of the marketing function. This is a hands‐on role focused on content creation, campaign delivery and day‐to‐day marketing execution within a growing engineering business. You will take ownership of core marketing activity and play a visible role in maintaining consistent, professional and on‐brand output across the Group.

Your responsibilities will span:

  • Social Media & Content Production
    • Manage weekly social media content across multiple platforms in line with the marketing strategy
    • Create graphics, photography, video and written content
    • Schedule posts and support campaign roll‐outs
    • Monitor engagement metrics and provide performance insights
    • Produce high‐quality brochures, flyers, case studies, presentations and other marketing collateral
    • Develop technical case studies in collaboration with Engineering and Projects teams
    • Support bid and tender documentation where required
    • Ensure sales collateral aligns with agreed messaging and campaign themes
  • Website & Digital Marketing
    • Update website content and landing pages via CMS
    • Support SEO improvements through blog creation and content optimisation
    • Assist in developing the companies SharePoint sites and internal/external newsletters
    • Support paid and organic campaign execution
  • Internal Communications & Events
    • Assist with internal communications materials and announcements
    • Support and champion planning and coordination of company events and culture initiatives
    • Manage marketing merchandise stock, ordering and supplier liaison
  • Reporting & Administration
    • Produce regular performance reports (social, website and campaign activity)
    • Maintain organised asset libraries and brand resources
    • Support campaign coordination and budget tracking

What you will get in return

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence technical capability across the business, shape the next generation of engineers, and play a central role in the growth and reputation of the R&B Switchgear Academy. You will work hands‐on with advanced switchgear technologies while representing R&B at industry events, awards, and education partnerships within a supportive, engineering‐focused environment.

As a business we value our people, because it's our people who set us apart. As a member of our team, you will receive a wide range of benefits including:

  • Annual performance‐related bonus scheme and pay reviews
  • 9‐Day Fortnight (every other Friday off)
  • 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Occupational Health Provider
  • Company wellbeing workshops
  • Access to mental health support and counselling
  • Sick pay scheme for those days you need to rest and recover
  • Auto‐enrolment personal pension scheme which is matched by the company
  • Career pathways and personal development
  • Discretionary 2 week paid sick leave allowance after probation
  • Active social committee with regular fully funded events
  • Individual recognition and reward schemes including Employee of the Year
  • Free on site parking

What we're looking for

This role would suit someone with 1–2 years' marketing experience, ideally in a B2B or technical environment. Key skills include:

  • Experience creating multi‐channel content (digital and print)
  • Creative flair and confidence using design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar)
  • Confident copywriter able to translate technical information clearly
  • Experience using and supporting social media business accounts
  • Highly self‐sufficient, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks from concept through to delivery
  • A self‐starter who can manage workload independently and prioritise effectively within an SME environment
