RB Jones Global Solutions is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking for credit underwriting professionals to help build and scale its credit insurance platform. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in establishing a new book β€” from individual risk selection and pricing through to shaping the broader portfolio as it grows. You’ll be working across both underwriting and broker relationships, with real visibility and responsibility from day one. Duties and Key Responsibilities Support the underwriting of credit insurance risks through detailed financial and credit analysis of obligors, sectors, and portfolios Assist in the day-to-day management of the credit insurance book, including policy administration, endorsements, and renewals Evaluate risk exposures, monitor limits, and provide recommendations in line with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to obtain necessary information and ensure efficient processing of transactions Maintain accurate underwriting records and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards Contribute to portfolio monitoring by tracking performance, identifying trends, and flagging potential areas of concern Assist with underwriting reporting, including preparation of management information, portfolio summaries, and exposure analysis Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to support retention and new business opportunities Continuously develop technical underwriting knowledge, market awareness, and understanding of industry trends Knowledge and Experience Required Experience in credit underwriting, credit insurance, trade finance, or a related credit risk role where you have gained a solid understanding of financial statement analysis, including assessment of profitability, liquidity, leverage, and cash flow. Knowledge of credit insurance products, policy structures, and underwriting principles so you are able to apply this and create a first draft without supervision. Familiarity with sector and country risk considerations, with the ability to assess macroeconomic and industry trends Familiarity underwriting more complex financial products such as Project Finance, Asset Finance, Derivatives and LevFin. Experience supporting underwriting decisions, including risk assessment, limit setting, and portfolio monitoring Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Good understanding of policy administration processes, including endorsements, renewals, and documentation Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) for analysis, reporting, and data management Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience liaising with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders Commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business growth and portfolio development Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to underwriting (desirable) Progress towards, or interest in, professional qualifications (e.g. ACII, CFA, or relevant finance/credit certifications) (desirable) Skills and Competencies Required Credit Analysis & Risk Assessment – Strong ability to interpret financial statements, assess creditworthiness, and identify key risk drivers Underwriting Support – Experience assisting with underwriting decisions, limit setting, and portfolio management within defined risk appetite Analytical Thinking – Able to evaluate complex data, draw insights, and make sound commercial recommendations Attention to Detail – High level of accuracy in reviewing documentation, policy terms, and financial information Organisation & Time Management – Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced underwriting environment Communication Skills – Clear and professional communication with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders Relationship Building – Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships to support client retention and business growth Commercial Awareness – Understanding of market dynamics and the ability to balance risk with business development objectives Team Collaboration – Works effectively within underwriting teams, supporting senior colleagues and contributing to shared targets Technical Proficiency – Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills; comfortable working with underwriting systems and databases Problem Solving – Proactive in identifying issues and proposing practical underwriting or process solutions Adaptability – Flexible and responsive to changing priorities, market conditions, and business needs Other: Ability to continually develop knowledge of company procedures.
