Overview

Pharmacy Technician Apprentice role in a busy Southport pharmacy team, supporting suppliers, staff and patients while progressing toward registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, order, receive and supply medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately.
  • Provide person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
  • Support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy support staff as the apprenticeship progresses.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new members of staff.
  • Maintain high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback.

Apprenticeship & Qualification

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level). On successful completion, eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside job duties.

Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE – Maths, Science, and English (minimum 4).
  • Based within 20 minutes of the pharmacy and able to drive.
  • Willingness to commit to the full length of the apprenticeship and working hours.
  • Passion for pharmacy and healthcare.
