We are looking for a Cyber Security Solutions Engineer to join our growing team of like-minded tech people. Reporting to the Enterprise Solution Architect, the Cyber Security Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing secure IT solutions across razorblue’s client base. This role combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness and excellent customer engagement skills. You’ll work closely with the Solution Architect team, Consulting, and Security Operations teams to ensure proposed solutions are secure, practical to deliver, and aligned with industry best practice. You’ll support pre‑sales engagements, contribute to solution design, and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout delivery and service improvement activities. This is a hands‑on consulting role in an MSP environment, focused on practical remediation and customer outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience across Windows Server, Microsoft 365/Azure, and modern security technologies, and will be comfortable switching between customer meetings, technical design sessions, and hands‑on engineering work when required.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities- Contribute to the design of secure infrastructure and cloud solutions for new and existing clients.
- Produce and review technical design documents (HLDs) in line with razorblue standards.
- Ensure security controls and security‑by‑design principles are built into proposed solutions.
- Join client meetings to gather requirements and translate them into secure technical recommendations.
- Present proposed designs confidently to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Support Account Managers and the Solution Architect team in preparing technical proposals, scopes, and statements of work.
- Balance commercial and technical priorities to deliver solutions that are secure, supportable, and viable.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to implement security improvements across customer environments.
- Support remediation of vulnerabilities and configuration weaknesses through practical changes and clear technical guidance.
- Assist with the deployment and improvement of security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure, and on‑premises infrastructure.
- Work with Consulting and Security Operations teams to prioritise remediation activity based on risk and customer impact.
- Contribute to improving secure baselines, hardening standards, and repeatable remediation approaches.
- Support clients with security improvements aligned to frameworks such as Cyber Essentials, ISO27001 principles, and NCSC guidance.
- Contribute to internal and client‑facing security reviews, readiness assessments, and improvement recommendations.
- Ensure designs and delivered solutions follow secure baseline standards and good practice.
- Help improve internal documentation, standards, and reusable secure design patterns.
We know its unrealistic to find someone who ticks all of these boxes (extra points if you do), which is why we seek those eager to develop over time through our development resources and peer learning. If this aligns with your own personal growth mindset, we would love you to apply.
Experience- Experience working in an MSP, consultancy, or multi‑customer environment.
- Strong Microsoft stack experience including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Windows Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of identity and access controls including MFA and Conditional Access.
- Experience supporting vulnerability remediation and security improvement activities.
- Exposure to security tooling such as endpoint protection, email security, and next‑generation firewalls.
- Exposure to SIEM tooling such as Microsoft Sentinel (desirable).
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and perform your own research when required.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical, customer‑focused mindset.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- High standards of professionalism and personal presentation.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
