A key member of the Facilitation and Administration (F&A) Service team, the Real Life Support (RLS) Lead will lead the RLS service, which delivers assured, scalable RLS support solutions through early and continuous engagements during training exercise design and planning. This position is critical to the successful delivery of the Army Collective Training Service (ACTS), ensuring that collective training is delivered to meet the British Army’s needs.

The RLS Service supports exercises with the planning and co-ordination of real life support services to set up exercises in both UK and Overseas. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Training Support Branch responsible for leading the RLS team, forging links with the Training Delivery team, integrating with Military workforce, managing contract services, and ensuring that RLS solutions are appropriately co-ordinated and resourced.

• Lead the RLS Service and Team.
• Oversee the planning, development and implementation of tailored exercise RLS solutions for Collective Training Events.
• Ensuring the processes that support the design and delivery of collective training are in place and updated to reflect changes in the Force Preparation Schedule.
• Collaborate with all stakeholders and contractors to ensure RLS delivers conditions to maximise training outcomes.
• Oversee the design, integration, and implementation of RLS solutions across the programme, which includes transportation and movement solutions (including Dangerous Air Cargo (DAC)), accommodation, catering, and compliant healthcare and medical support.
• Supervise the design and implementation of the Med Plan to ensure medical provision, including emergency procedures and evacuation.
• Direct liaison with F&A, Logistic Support and Security Support providers both within Omnia Training and across the wider army and industry.
• Ensure governance, risk management, and compliance standards are met throughout the transformation lifecycle.
• Monitor and report on progress, risks, and outcomes to Training Support leadership.
• When required, forward deploy to overseas military training areas to supervise implementation of RLS services.
• Any other duties required to develop and support the RLS Service.

You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations, and the British Army. Proven experience in designing Collective Training Exercise RLS Support Solutions for the British Army training. Strong background in the design and delivery of critical RLS logistical and medical support solutions. Deep understanding of management methodologies and best practices. Experience in programme governance, risk management, and benefits realisation. Demonstrate attention to detail, a passion for quality and be able to plan and multitask. Adopt a flexible approach to the role, adapt to evolving priorities. Experience with training both in the UK and overseas. Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and digital transformation tools. Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team, developing talent and delivering individual personal development. Knowledge and practical experience of UK Ministry of Defence procedures and policies.

Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area. A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
