About the role:
As an IT Solution Architect, you'll bridge business needs and technology, designing scalable, secure, and effective solutions across applications, systems, and services. Main Duties:
- The Solution Architect will demonstrate competencies across three key areas:
- Design and Analysis: Ability to create high-level and low-level architectural designs to guide solution development across products, services, projects, and systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information). Contribute to technology roadmaps, technical strategy and architectural principles.
- Delivery: Attends required governance forums associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance. Adheres to the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision. Contributes to the creation of new standards and patterns.
- Facilitates and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes: Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Works closely with the Programme Management Office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience in solution architecture, application design, or infrastructure architecture.
- Strong understanding of enterprise, application, security, and network architecture principles.
- Experience designing and implementing solutions across Microsoft, Linux, and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and multi-cloud architectures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of architectural frameworks, modelling tools (e.g. UML, ArchiMate), and IT service management best practices (e.g. ITIL).
Desirable:
- Exposure to a broad range of technologies, platforms, and enterprise environments.
- Understanding of emerging technology trends and their application to business transformation and innovation.
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies, such as TOGAF.
