Overview
In this role you lead the UK-wide Product Safety Management System (PSMS) within the Systems and Product Integrity team, driving strategy, policy, and oversight. You will engage senior stakeholders across product areas to implement a compliant PSMS and foster a proactive safety culture. You’ll own occurrence reporting, coordinate regulatory interactions, and continuously improve safety processes to support mission-ready products. This is an opportunity to shape safety governance across Raytheon UK in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain PSMS strategy, policy, processes and manuals
- Manage internal and external stakeholders interfacing with the PSMS
- Oversee Product Safety risk management and promote positive safety culture
- Chair and participate in top-level Product Safety reviews (PSAG, PSEB)
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies for safety approvals and maintain regulatory compliance
- Manage Occurrence Reporting system, review meetings, CAPAs and reporting systems
- Sponsor safety investigations into contributory and causal factors
- Oversee Product Safety communications and training initiatives
- Perform hazard identification and Safety Risk analysis; monitor risk registers and ALARP/Tolerability status
- Ensure timely production of minutes and management of PSMS inputs/outputs
Key requirements
- Previously approved as a Safety Manager within a regulatory framework
- Experience in a highly regulated industry (Defence, Aviation, Nuclear, Building)
- Excellent communicator
- Experience in Defence Programmes
- Risk management experience in a Safety context
