Raytheon UK have a full time, perm opportunity for a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our team on our Glenrothes and Livingston sites. Our Senior Test Development Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity for your career growth; your technical knowledge will continue to develop due to our focus on R&D and you will have opportunities to step up in seniority as we expect this team to have strong growth in the near future.
As Senior Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You will work on technologies that support Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and cutting-edge GPS Anti-Jamming systems across land, sea, air, and space.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems
- Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting
- Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions
- Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards
- Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers
Required Experience
- Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design
- Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
- Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
- Test software design experience
- Able to support/debug system integration
- Must be eligible for Security Clearance to a minimum of BPSS and ideally SC
Desirable Experience
- Significant test development experience in industry
- Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools
- Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI
- Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation
- Software Certification or detailed knowledge of: NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#
- Design of mixed signal circuits
- High speed serial networks
- An appreciation of RF electronics
- Knowledge of power supply design
