Overview
In this role, you support Raytheon UK's EHS performance and drive compliance with UK regulations and corporate standards. You will work with the EHS and Facilities teams to advise management and staff, manage risk assessments, and lead or contribute to audits and improvements. The position offers variety—on-site or home-based—and may involve travel across the South of England to support Selborne programme teams. You will help develop EHS programs, report on performance, and enable continuous improvement in a demanding manufacturing/engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and present EHS plans to stakeholders
- Develop and implement EHS programmes and change processes
- Understand and apply EHS management system in line with legal and corporate standards
- Provide EHS advice and guidance with escalation as needed
- Perform risk assessments and action planning
- Ensure COSHH compliance and act as point of contact
- Lead/participate in audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Prepare and present at EHS programme committee meetings
- Support environmental systems and initiatives for the company, partners and customers
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for legal and regulatory audits
- Assist with programme compliance tasks and continuous improvement activities
- Keep up to date with EHS requirements and report on performance metrics
- Manage timely delivery of tasks and collaborate with the team
Key requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (minimum)
- Knowledge/experience of ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental, health and safety regulations
- Experience with hazardous waste and COSHH
- Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
- Proficient report writing and presentations (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Project management experience
- Strong initiative and goal orientation
- Member of or working towards a recognized industry body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM)
- Desirable: MOD regulatory familiarity and security clearance eligibility (MoD Secret SC)
