Role & Responsibilities:
In this role you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference to the Royal Navy Training Design Service. As the e-Courseware Developer you'll support the FTU (Future Training Unit) to deliver learning that is blended, active and provides customer delight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all training courses assigned to you with regards to training transformation.
- Developing innovative and engaging e-Courseware content utilising industry-standard software such as rapid authoring tools for delivery on multiple platforms, including tablet and mobile phone.
- Ensuring the processes that support the creation, review and change of training courses follow the end-to-end training design process, are DSAT (Defence Systems Approach to Training) compliant, and adhere to quality standards.
- Proactively addressing, resolving and escalating any challenges that may impact delay to delivery.
- Support with the maintenance of Management Systems and Learning Content Management System.
- Proactively seeking feedback and impact stories to further enhance training courses and to continuously improve and celebrate the work completed.
- Ensure that any changes derived from internal and external validation are incorporated into all courseware design activity.
- Conducting the maintenance and validation of training documentation, reviewing and evaluating Training Needs Analyses.
- Attending OEM Design Reviews, Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, to ensure we stay aligned with agreed training requirements.
- Delivery of training courses and briefs on specific topics as required by the Customer ensuring compliance with MoD regulations and procedures.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships with subject matter experts to positively contribute towards training transformation.
- Identify opportunities to provide accreditation for new and/or amended training as designed.
- Responsible for the continuous professional development of yourself.
- Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and customers.
- Follow security standards and system requirements to protect data and ensure smooth operations.
Required experience:
- Demonstrate a passion for training transformation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate experience of creating e-learning content and technology-based learning solutions.
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to use in-house systems as well as a wide range of platforms including MS office and use of Sharepoint.
- Able to complete and prepare monthly data reports.
- Demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, collaborate, communicate, demonstrate best practice within the business, customers and the wider team.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, a passion for quality, be able to plan, multitask, deliver on time and work independently.
- Adopt a flexible approach to the role and be able to adapt to evolving priorities.
Desirable experience:
- ADDIE model and Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
- Training and/or Instructional Design.
- Knowledge of UK Ministry of Defence procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes.
- An understanding of adult learning principles.
- Relevant higher education qualification (FD, HND or Degree).
- Professional web authoring software / rapid authoring tools.
