About the role:
Raytheon UK’s Legal and Ethics organisation is seeking a Legal Counsel with a strong background in commercial contracts, defence procurement, and corporate governance.
Skills and Experience:
- UK qualified solicitor with some post qualification experience (gained either in-house or in private practice).
- Demonstrated relevant legal experience in commercial contracts and company secretarial matters.
- LL.B. from an accredited university in the UK.
- Be a member of the Law Society/The Legal Services Board/the Bar Council.
- Enthusiasm for collaboration with stakeholders and contributors from multiple levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with commercial transactions.
- Excellent writing, drafting, interpretation, and negotiating skills.
- Proactive attitude combined with a high degree of ownership, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Well-organised, with strong project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Raytheon UK’s core business areas to provide strategic and tactical legal advice across a wide spectrum of commercial contract and defence procurement issues.
- Providing legal advice and strategic guidance to various business areas.
- Occasional dealing with contractual legal claims and disputes.
- Contributing strategic advice and assistance to bid activities.
- Partnering directly with commercial and subcontracts colleagues.
- Working collaboratively with the Raytheon UK and wider Raytheon LLC.
- Managing outside counsel and other third-party advisors.
- Liaising with Raytheon (US) LCC and RTX corporate team members.
- Being a valued proactive team member within the Raytheon UK Legal, Ethics & Compliance team.
