b Overview /b p As Head of Safety and Certification, you lead the System Safety, Certification and Environmental disciplines across Raytheon UK’s portfolio, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. You mentor a specialist team and shape how safety, certification and environmental considerations are integrated into product development. You engage with stakeholders to sustain safe, compliant delivery of mission-critical systems. This senior role offers impact across bids, programmes and external audits, within a world-class aerospace and defence context. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Maintain System Safety policies and procedures aligned with standards and RTX/Raytheon policy /li li Manage System Safety resources to meet business needs, cost and schedule /li li Lead and guide System Safety workshops and assessments /li li Review and approve System Safety documentation /li li Maintain Product Safety procedures and engage with Product Safety Managers and Advisors /li li Ensure Product Safety resources are available in collaboration with Heads of Engineering /li li Review and approve Product Safety documentation /li li Review and approve certification documentation (Plans, Declarations, Certificates) and maintain certification records /li li Maintain environmental policies and provide timely specialist advice /li li Manage environmental resources and lead environmental workshops and assessments /li li Review and approve environmental documentation /li li Champion engineering best practices and perform audits/reviews /li li Lead technical input into bids/proposals, identifying risks and opportunities /li li Represent Raytheon UK as a senior technical authority with customers and stakeholders /li li Engage with forums to stay abreast of domain developments /li li Support external audits and participate in Certification Board activities /li li Lead audits of safety and environmental programmes and assist during bidding and compliance processes /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Degree in Engineering, Physics or other relevant subject /li li Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership /li li Track record of developing safety and environmental cases to standards (Def Stan 00-056, 00-055, 00-051) /li li Proven leadership of specialist engineering teams in mission-critical product development /li li Broad technical expertise across engineering functions /li li Experience in assessing and assuring products with safety-related software functions /li li Strong coaching, mentoring and talent development abilities /li li Strategic, structured problem solving and decision-making /li li Highly dependable, autonomous and results-driven /li li Eligible for SC clearance with potential for DV clearance /li /ul ul li Coaching and mentoring /li li Strategic thinking /li li Problem-solving /li li System Safety engineering /li li Product Safety management /li li Certification processes and documentation /li /ul
