Position
Senior Finance Analyst – Weapons Programme Finance Team, Harlow, Essex (Hybrid).
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and communicate the link between programme and financial performance, providing insight to business leads and key stakeholders.
- Ensure financial processes are delivered on time and well understood by the business and stakeholders (Risk, Opportunity Management, Earned Value Management, Forecasting).
- Support the achievement of all metrics (bookings, sales, profit, cash).
- Actively promote accuracy, predictability and value‑added analysis across all finance deliverables.
- Support the Programme Team with Quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting.
- Help establish the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and five‑year plan targets.
- Act as the “financial conscience” of the business, ensuring Business and Financial Policy adherence.
- Provide financial insight to support the business risk & opportunities process (development, analysis, mitigation & review).
- Build a network with all stakeholders.
- Champion best practice and seek improvements to systems and processes.
- Assist the Finance Manager in developing meaningful financial analysis for new business investment decisions and pricing.
- Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis and decision support.
- Required Experience
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or finalist.
- Project accounting experience.
- Business partnering skills, working across different internal functions.
- Relevant commercial experience in a similar defence or complex contracting environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with SAP, Power BI, MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).
- Proactive, analytical and inquisitive mindset.
- Attention to detail and process adherence.
