SAP Developer
We are seeking an experienced SAP developer to support ERP ABAP development within the Digital Technology team.
The role focuses on the delivery and support of application solutions across UK divisions, ensuring operational business effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Work with functional and business teams to deliver systems that meet requirements.
- Collaborate closely with staff and functional users to ensure timely and effective delivery of systems or changes.
- Serve as primary contact for bug fixes, service requests and approved changes to current systems and new applications.
- Ensure ongoing availability of Raytheon system solutions and improve productivity.
- Provide system support within published service levels, responding to break‑fixes and executing preventive maintenance solutions.
- Provide out‑of‑hours support as required (e. g., finance month‑end).
- Maintain integrity, availability and security of information and systems.
- Conduct business analysis, capture requirements, and translate them into system requirements.
- Perform systems analysis, programming, testing, and data design.
- Implement systems, provide training, support, and problem resolution.
- Develop documentation for technologists and users.
- Respond to and resolve break‑fixes and implement preventive maintenance.
- Analyze, design, code, test, implement, document, and support development and enhancements to RSL applications and interfaces.
- Monitor help‑desk and change‑control systems for incoming work.
- Update configuration and change‑management tools to reflect changes to the application portfolio.
- Co‑operate with vendors to deliver requirements and resolve issues.
- Occasional visits to other RSL sites and customer or partner organisations may be required.
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent, with strong SAP R3 and ABAP programming experience.
- General knowledge of IT technologies and activities, with specific knowledge of one or more technology fields.
- Experience with formal systems delivery methodologies.
- Experience delivering and supporting business‑critical application packages within a large organisation.
Desirable
- Knowledge and operational experience in manufacturing and/or defence industries.
- Experience with CPS job scheduler (SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood).
- In‑depth knowledge of required languages, applications, databases or technologies.
- Understanding of IT and systems engineering disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis and quality management.
- Knowledge of basic action planning, tracking and reporting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Team player, logical, analytical, innovative, customer‑focused and flexible.
