The BD Executive – Training Transformation Services (TTS) is responsible for driving profitable growth across Raytheon UK’s Training Transformation portfolio, supporting the execution of the TTS strategy under the direction of the Head of Business Development - Training Transformation. The role focuses on business development, capture leadership, and customer engagement within the UK Defence training ecosystem, shaping opportunities from early concept through to contract award and transition to delivery.
Main Duties:
- Execute business development and capture activity aligned to the TTS growth strategy, ensuring coherence with the broader Training Transformation roadmap.
- Own and manage qualified opportunities from early customer engagement through bid submission, contract award, and handover to delivery.
- Build and sustain senior-level customer relationships across MoD, Defence Digital, training authorities, and partner organisations to shape future requirements early.
- Develop a high-quality, credible pipeline of TTS opportunities, maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting through the company opportunity management system.
- Lead or support Shipley-based capture activities, including win strategy, customer value propositions, teaming strategies, and competitive positioning.
- Work closely with the Head of Business Development - Training Transformation, solution architects, delivery leads, and finance to ensure bids are executable, affordable, and aligned to strategic priorities.
- Identify and pursue international and cross-domain opportunities, including allied Defence markets (e.g. AUKUS, Five Eyes), where they align to Raytheon UK TTS capability.
- Represent TTS in customer briefings, industry events, and internal governance, acting as an informed and credible voice for the training business.
- Provide market insight and customer intelligence to inform portfolio evolution, capability investment, and future offering development.
- Prepare forecasts, departmental reports and presentations for the Training Transformation Services team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in Business Development and Capture within Defence training or mission-support domains.
- Strong understanding of UK Defence training environments, procurement routes, and customer decision-making structures.
- Demonstrable experience shaping opportunities and leading complex bids using structured capture methodologies (e.g. Shipley).
- Credibility operating with senior military, civil service, and industry stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate training transformation service value propositions, not just products.
- Strong commercial awareness and appreciation of risk, affordability, and deliverability.
- Willingness to undertake regular UK and international travel.
- SC Cleared, or eligible and willing to obtain SC (and DV when required).
