We currently have an opportunity for a Global Trade Specialist to join our UK team. This is a part-time opportunity for 3 days per week totalling 24 hours per week.

Based at the foot of the beautiful Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, this is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative business unit that supports international and domestic customers who are ‘interested to know what is happening in places they cannot be’. Our software and systems products produce meaningful intelligence from multiple data sources and present this information in an intuitive, secure and timely manner. We take the complexity out of data to empower our customers.

What you will do in this role:

The Global Trade Specialist will directly support the Intelligence Solutions facility in Malvern (Worcestershire). This position is based in Malvern but is also eligible for a hybrid environment.

  • Import Control: Maintaining accurate and auditable import records, providing clearance instructions for agents to clear goods on import, chasing copy entries, import entry amendment, approval of freight forwarder charges. Understanding and identifying appropriate HTS/Commodity codes.
  • IPR Management: Maintaining import records from clearing agents and HMRC, monthly IPR record audits, quarterly filings with HMRC, internal audit, discharging IPR, scrap process.
  • Licence Management: Management and record keeping of current export licences, applications for new licences, end user management and control.
  • Export Control: Producing export documentation, managing transactions in SAP, clearing export blocks, booking shipments with freight forwarders, licence and end user checks, tech data export control and record keeping, ATA carnet, approval of freight forwarder charges. Understanding and identifying appropriate export rating and HTS/commodity codes.
  • GT Approvals: Maintaining accurate records and approvals for MK Denial checks, travel permits, foreign national site visits, tech data transfers.
  • Policies & Procedures: Deploy and track implementation of GT policies and procedures.
  • Audits: Annual audits of procedures, record keeping, GT Department self-audits and supporting corporate, ECJU, HMRC, or other regulatory audits as required.
  • Training/Awareness: Support delivery and communication of procedural changes, training and awareness for on-site employees.
  • Employee Health & Safety: Fully comply with all EH&S roles and responsibilities as identified by company procedures.
  • Cross Functional Support: Assist other support functions (e.g., Ethics, Security) as needed.

Skills / Experience We Value

  • Prior import/export experience
  • Experience of working in the aerospace industry
  • Experience of using SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, responsive, self-motivated, receptive to change
  • Works well under pressure and is able to prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail and strong record management competency
  • Strong IT experience including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
