Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Project Manager to support the end‑to‑end delivery of transformational IT projects. The role involves operating with autonomy, owning complex project environments and contributing to continuous improvement, delivery excellence and business transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple IT projects concurrently from initiation through to closure.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including resourcing, implementation, testing, training, and transition‑to‑support activities.
- Manage and mitigate all project risks related to scope, time, budget, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, compliance, and budget targets, delivering measurable business value.
- Monitor and control project resources, capital costs, and revenue, ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
- Apply the Raytheon delivery methodology, utilising appropriate tools, methods, and governance processes.
- Identify, coordinate, and lead project team members, third‑party vendors, and contractors to achieve project goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates and escalation where required.
- Forecast resource needs and manage project timelines and milestones using Microsoft Project or equivalent tools.
- Produce clear documentation including progress reports, proposals, requirements, and presentations.
- Proactively manage scope changes and develop contingency plans for emerging risks or issues.
- Ensure adherence to governance standards, security requirements, and compliance frameworks across all projects.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and delivery partners.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable project management experience across initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication.
- Proven ability to lead technology projects involving multiple stakeholders, small teams (up to 5 people), up to 6 months duration and budgets up to £0.5m.
- Full lifecycle project delivery experience, including solution design, scoping, pricing, risk assessment, and transition into operations.
- Strong understanding of early lifecycle support and transition‑to‑service processes.
- Solid knowledge of Project Management Best Practice frameworks.
- Ability to work with complex systems and business processes, translating needs into clear requirements.
- Practical experience using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including running stand‑ups, sprints, and Kanban boards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience delivering complex IT projects across multiple domains.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Team Foundation or equivalent scheduling tools, and the full MS Office suite.
- PRINCE2 and/or PMP certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
- Eligible for SC clearance.
Desirable
- Experience working within a structured PMO environment.
- Prior delivery experience in defence or highly regulated technical industries.
- Experience within global or matrix‑managed organisations.
- Knowledge of ITIL and process quality methodologies.
- Six Sigma qualifications or experience.
- Experience using JIRA.
